Paul Butler Vs Jonas Sultan
APRIL 22nd, LIVERPOOL – The sensation of becoming a two-time world bantamweight champion has been characterized as “unbelievable” by Paul Butler.
Late replacement Butler out-pointed Butler. In front of his adoring fans, Jonas Sultan won the WBO interim world title at Probellum Liverpool tonight.
The WBO is expected to officially raise Butler to full champion, and the 33-year-old and his fans are celebrating him becoming a two-time champion this evening.
Butler won the IBF title in 2014, but he quickly relinquished it to pursue super-flyweight titles, and he acknowledges it’s been a “tough path” to return to the top of the 118-pound class.
Butler was declared the winner by all three ringside judges, who scored the fight 116-112, 118-110, and 116-112 respectively.
