Errol Spence Vs Yordenis Ugas
On Saturday night, Errol Spence Jr.’s surgically repaired left eye held up well.
It was actually Yordenis Ugas’ right eye that brought their welterweight title unification battle to a close in the 10th round at AT&T Stadium. Due to Ugas’ significantly swollen right eye, a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation physician asked referee Laurence Cole to stop Spence-Ugas at 1:44 of the 10th round.
Spence was declared the victor of the highly competitive main event of Showtime Pay-Per-four-fight View’s broadcast by technical knockout. The unified 147-pound champion fought for the first time since undergoing surgery in mid-August to repair a ruptured left retina.
